This is a general introductory for the KTM Motorcycle Company.
KTM is an Austrian Motorcycle company that was founded in the year 1934 by a man that went by the name Hans Trunkenpolz. The company itself originally started out as a metal working shop and was not named KTM to begin with (the name is too long for me to want to bother typing out.) It took until 1954 for KTM to actually start producing Motorcycles. KTM isn’t one of the largest manufacturers in the world, but they do a good job at keeping up with the competition by utilizing innovation in their works. The first thing that KTM starter to produce to make a name for itself was off road motorcycles. This was a big hit for many people around the world. The company later on began to expand into more modern motorcycles that were considered to be road ready motorcycles. They are also known for their manufacturing of mopeds and bicycles. This is very common for European companies as these are both still major forms of transportation in European countries to this day. KTM expanded to the United States market in the late 1970s when they created a subsidiary of their parent company named ‘KTM North American Inc’. This was founded in Lorain Ohio. This was a major step for the company, especially considering the United States was still in its top years for production and was one of the most stable economies at the time. This created a boom in the demand for their motorcycle, as they were now producing for two major markets in the world.
